Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
I am a disciple of the Salatin style of integrative, rejuvenative, sustainable agriculture. I try to improve, and/or restore my land through my agricultural practices.

Additional Information
I believe strongly in using heritage breeds, heirloom varieties of plants, and in doing everything on a size appropriate scale. My use of the land does not destroy it, but attempts to improve it while producing clean and wholesome food raised in a humane manner. I am just one person, but this is MY part in trying to heal a wounded world and its people...including myself.

Dairy and Eggs: Eggs

#10479 All Jumbo Eggs - Cage Free & Raised On Pasture
Order number of dozens. Every day a few of my girls feel they need to show off and produce a huge egg for me. I have always found the size of these jumbo eggs to be amazing when taken in context. I use heritage, dual purpose breeds that are not typically known as producers of Jumbo size eggs. I like to think that it's their way of telling me that they are happy and healthy birds. I think you may find a higher rate of double yoke eggs in these huge orbs of goodness that size out at Jumbo and Super-Jumbo. The breeds we currently care for include Barred Rocks, Black Australorps, Cuckoo Marans, Welsummers, Buff Orpingtons, Ameraucanas (green eggs), Rhode Island Reds and Buttercups. These eggs will be mainly brown in color with an occasional green egg. There will typically be no white eggs in this group. As with all of my eggs, they are from cage free, pasture raised chickens. They “graze” on pasture and are supplemented with all vegetarian feed that is free of animal byproducts, hormones, antibiotics or other medications. The 2007 Mother Earth News egg tests proved that eggs from chickens raised on pasture had 1/3 less cholesterol, 1/4 less saturated fat, 2/3 more vitamin A, 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids, 3 times more vitamin E and 7 times more beta carotene than regular store bought eggs. We use new egg cartons made from 100% recycled paper.

#9763 Extra Large Eggs - Cage Free & Raised On Pasture
Order number of dozens. My eggs are from cage free, pasture raised chickens. These eggs will mainly come from Barred Rocks and Black Australorps, with a fewer number coming from Buff Orpingtons, Welsummers, Cuckoo Marans and Ameraucanas (green eggs). The eggs will be various shades of brown and green with an occasional white egg. The breeds we currently care for include Barred Rocks, Black Australorps, Cuckoo Marans, Welsummers, Buff Orpingtons, Ameraucanas, Rhode Island Reds and Buttercups. These breeds are traditional, heritage, dual purpose breeds. #10238 Premium Apple Smoking Wood
Order number of packages. Ressler Farms is offering a limited supply of Premium Apple Smoking Wood for your smoking and grilling pleasure. Apple is one of the most prized woods and is highly sought after by top chefs at high end restaurants who are looking to impart that special something to their already beautiful food. Its smoke leaves behind a uniquely sweet essence that is very complimentary to pork, lamb, all fowl (domestic and wild) as well as big game and beef. My smoking woods are chemical free. I have never sprayed any of my trees with any substance. My woods are harvested, debarked if necessary, and then cut and chopped into small chunks for smoking and grilling. To use, you may soak the wood in water for 30 minutes or overnight. However, experts agree that with larger chunks, soaking is unnecessary. Place the soaked or dry wood directly on hot coals, in a smoker box or wrapped in heavy duty foil with holes on top or the sides. The smoke will vary with the heat level. Smoking woods are traditionally sold by volume. This wood is sold in volumes of 231 cubic inches, the volume of 1 gallon, as in a 1 gallon zip lock bag.

It is perfect for poultry, fish and pork, but is also considered well suited to wild game and beef. My woods are harvested, debarked if necessary, and then cut and chopped into small chunks for smoking and grilling. To use, you may soak the wood in water for 30 minutes or overnight. #11015 Premium Peach Smoking Wood
Order number of packages. Ressler Farms is offering a limited supply of Premium Peach Smoking Wood for your smoking and grilling pleasure. Peach wood is considered an excellent all around smoking wood. Many a championship has been won using Peach wood, by itself, or in combination with other smoking woods such as Hickory or Oak. Peach imparts a mild, slightly sweet, woodsy flavor that is perfect for all white meats such as turkey, chicken and pork, as well as fish and seafood. My smoking woods are chemical free. I have never sprayed any of my trees with any substance. My woods are harvested, debarked if necessary, and then cut and chopped into small chunks for smoking and grilling. #10480 Premium Pear Smoking Wood
Order number of packages. Ressler Farms is offering a limited supply of Premium Pear Smoking Wood for your smoking and grilling pleasure. Pear wood, much like my other fruit woods, provides smoke that is slightly sweet. Its subtle smoke flavor is quite similar to apple wood with a mildly sweet, woodsy flavor that is sufficiently dense to please even the most discriminating chef. It works marvelously well with poultry, game birds and pork. My smoking woods are chemical free. I have never sprayed any of my trees with any substance. My woods are harvested, debarked if necessary, and then cut and chopped into small chunks for smoking and grilling. To use, you may soak the wood in water for 30 minutes or overnight. Order number of packages. Ressler Farms is offering a limited supply of Premium Pecan Smoking Wood for your smoking and grilling pleasure. My smoking woods are chemical free. I have never sprayed any of my trees with any substance. Pecan wood has a mildly nutty or fruity flavor that is similar to Hickory. However, Pecan will burn cool and offer a richness of character. You will not be disappointed. It can be likened to a smoother version of Hickory. It may be used for longer lengths of time for smoking larger pieces of meat, such as briskets and pork roasts, or even large cuts of fish. My woods are harvested, debarked if necessary, and then cut and chopped into small chunks for smoking and grilling. To use, you may soak the wood in water for 30 minutes or overnight.
