I am retired from being a research archaeologist and university teacher, although I have continued to teach OU classes on-line part-time. A couple of years ago, I realized I needed to learn to text if I wanted to stay in touch with my grandchildren. When I started to learn, I found out that most of my peers didn’t know how either, so I got busy and wrote a simple, guide book that teaches grandparents (or anyone) how to text message. I also have been making baby blankets out of 100% cotton and edging them with a single row of hand-crochet since long before I even became a grammy. Over the years, I have received so many comments from moms that love the large size of these soft blankets, that I decided to offer them on the coop. They make excellent presents as well as using with your own babies. I discovered another use for them when my own mother had a stroke and was wheel chair bound. These blankets kept her lap and legs warm and folded diagonally, made a soft shoulder wrap. The flannel clings so they didn’t slip off her. I’ve also noticed that babies and elderly keep their finger busy feeling the edging.
