Renricks is one of the largest natural grown perennial growers in Oklahoma.
We are located in the beautiful Washita Valley of Oklahoma

We are a licensed nursery and we approach growing differently than most nurseries. First we trial plants for a year before offering them to our customers. We want to offer only plants that will thrive in Oklahoma. Secondly we strive to support and enhance our bio niche. At Renricks going into the nursery is an adventure of discover every day. There is no telling what wildlife we will see
Most state butterflies have been sighted and photographed in our nursery or field.

Our product line is extensive and most plants either attract butterflies or hummingbirds.

With over 600 different perennials (over 250 different daylilies, 30 Hibiscus, 40 iris etc......we have something that will catch the eye and a place in your garden for most of our visitors.

We are a a plant and flower farmer. Renricks is located in the beautiful Washita Valley in Chickasha. We have three acres of cut flower and potted plants.

I know that flower farmer sounds strange but our crop is flowers. We grow perennials,tomato, pepper, vegetable, bedding, herbs, roses and water garden plants.
We also grow several striking flowers for cut flower production.

We strive to find the unusual that will Thrive in Oklahoma. We grow the unusual and hard to find perennial.

Rick is an avid photographer and I have listed some of his greeting cards, note cards and photography. Renee makes a very unusual doll for decoration called a Church Doll
It is a historical design.
The dolls are made out of antique and vintage pillowcases.

We started out in 1984, but we have been gardening all of our lives.
We do not use pesticides nor herbicides.
We also have a variety of Flower seeds we collect from our plants that we make available. Our seeds are fresh. All are hand packaged in informational labeled packets ready for your garden.

Rick has been breeding Hardy Hibiscus for several years now and has several seedlings that show a lot of promise..

In 2010 we planted our display garden of modern daylilies and started RED EARTH DAYLILIES

Rick had been hybrdizing for over 3 years and has several that he evaluating for future introduction.



During the spring we are busy with our in ground production of perennials and our Greenhouse is full of bedding plants for market.

By summer our cut flowers are in full production. We grow 11 colors of zinnia, Sunflowers, Gomphrea, statice and other annuals. We also have an extensive perennial cut flower and shrub planting.

OSU Wed Market, 63rd and Western in OKC from 11am-4pm

During the summer our cutting beds are a glow with butterflies and hummingbirds.
Rick does nature and landscape Photography as well as the greeting cards using his photography.

We do not use pesticides and herbicides on any of our plants
Our perennials are grown in 4.5" jumbo, 5.5" jumbo, 1 and 2 gallon pots,
we also grow some starter perennial plants in 4" pots
Our vegtable plants (tomatoes, peppers, egg plants etc....) are grown in 3" pots to offer you the best root system to give your plants a head start

Everything is grown by us either by seed, division or in the case of patented varieties by small liners that we grow out and finish.

POLICY ON PLANTS:
I guarantee that I will package healthy plants for you. If you have ordered from Renricks, you know that I pack the plants as if they are shipping through USPS. Upon on delivery, you should immediately open and unpack the plants , water and plant.

RENRICKS warrants the seed and plants to be of the variety and quantity advertised. . Claims must be made within 2 days of delivery. All other replacements, refunds, returns and exchanges will be made at the sole discretion of the seller.

Seed and plants are living products which depends on many important related grower skills and environmental conditions that are totally out of the sellers control. Such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, irrigation, proper use of organic: fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides; disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period. Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media. These factors are totally out of the seller's control and are the buyer's responsibility and risk. Consequently, the seller cannot guarantee seed and plants to perform properly regardless of conditions or the buyer's methods or mistakes.

The Garden is full bloom and the the plants are growing after the refreshing 14+ days of rain in May.
The weeds are just as happy with the rain and full sun.

We are busy planting and weeding.

We are planting every two weeks more cut flowers to keep a steady supply for the markets.

This month we are listing lots of special prices in our perennials. ,br>
We also have added more herbs, cut flower plants zinnas and sunflowers and morning glory vines.

. Our native flowers are in full bloom around the state and we grow several natives. > We will have cut flowers at the farmers markets by mid June.
They are growing very well in our cut flower beds. We planted over 2000 plants in our first planting of the 15 different types and colors of zinnias, sunflowers etc..... Several new colors and varieties.

Kids Gardening /b>
> Have your kids cut wildflowers in your yard or field and create a bouquet to give to a homebound neightbor or friend.

Travel to any of our state parks, take a wild flower guide with you (I recommend the Doyle book on Oklahoma Wildflowers) and other field guides, Butterfly, Animals, Reptile, Rock, etc.... Have the kids identify the wildflowers and wild life that they find at the park or on drive to the park. > >

> > One new pest in the state is the FIRE ANT.

I lived in Texas where this ant prevents kids from even walking on the grass barefoot. These are small ants but they deliver a painful bite and hundreds of bites
if you actidentally step on their nest mound.

> Do not follow the information that has been broadcast by the local TV stations and extension offices. They are recommending using ANT BAIT like amdro. This is an indiscriminate ant killer and will kill off your best defense against fire ants (our native ants). Healthy populations of our local red , black, kitchen ants etc.... are the best defense. Texas made this mistake and TAMU has the research to show people a better way. > If the natives are killed off like they did in Texas, fire ants will become dominate. Also remember the native red ant is the Texas Horned Lizard food source.

> They know how to deal with fire ants. >

> If you make your back yard a toxic area by using amdro, spraying with an insecticide etc... The queen fire ant will just move the colony next door. the best way is to find the mounds, which is easy they look like gopher mounds somewhat and pour boiling hot water into the nest. During rainy seasons the queen is above ground and easily killed with hot water. >
