PICTURE PERFECT POETRY: Original poetry written to match original photography with universal themes -- part educational, part whimsical. About Us I'm Lauren Kloiber, one of the original group of OK Food Co-op customers. For 23 years I used my legal education for researching and writing appellate and trial briefs for folks like you and me -- explaining facts and crafting arguments. It's been very rewarding. In 2006 I was trained by Amherst Writers & Artists of Amherst, MA, to lead writing groups; thus far I've employed that training for three years to lead a creative writing group for women inmates of the Oklahoma County Detention Center, as well as more casually for groups of friends. I generally write poetry in these groups -- mostly free verse but sometimes rhyming -- as well as when sitting in my rock garden, or a high-rise building, or an untidy parking lot -- anything and everything lends itself to descriptive poetry. Recently I've been writing poetry inspired by the photographs I take anywhere and everywhere (and occasionally by one a family member or friend has taken). I believe most of us can relate to something in a splendid 1770 farmhouse, a toddler's introspective stare, a meandering river, a mama squirrel peeking out of her hollow-tree nest, bright yellow dandelions at elevation 10,000 feet, an entertaining cat, watching a wall cloud in spring, or the other photo/poem pairs I've created. Each pairing is presented in a double-cut 8x10 mat, sealed with cover stock, and ready to fit a standard frame. The finished product is protected in a poly bag and then a heavy-board stay-flat mailer. Papers and tapes are acid-free. Hobby Lobby, which custom cuts the mats, is an Oklahoma company.
