About Us
Emerald Acres is nestled in the rolling hills of Hughes County, Oklahoma. We raise sheep, and chickens on pasture. Our free-range hens are fed a custom-formulated grain ration without any added hormones or antibiotics. Our pastures have not been sprayed with any chemicals since 2004. Our eggs are little orbs of goodness! Our chickens have never seen the inside of a cage and are the happiest birds on earth. Give a try to our wonderful eggs...you won't be sorry! Now to the fruits and nuts! Our persimmons are grown on the same unsprayed pastures that our sheep graze and our hens peck around on. So they are grown in a fully natural environment. I have 14 beautiful pecan trees down by the ponds they they just burst with native fruits. We are also blessed with a couple of black walnut trees and several english walnuts that I haven't had the nerve to tackle yet...but I'm sure I will one day! All of our crafts and kitchen items are handmade and you will never see two alike. We enjoy our little farm and it shows. We show our pampered Hampshire Sheep and sell for breeding and club lambs. I also usually have a couple of "bummers" that I sell as sweet pets and lawn mowers! So, if you would like to meet "The Ladies" or take a nice stroll thru our "Dr Doolittles Farm" give a call!

Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
I have moved from the fast-paced world of commercial advertising to my little piece of heaven in south eastern Oklahoma. I enjoy my life here on my farm and it shows in the products we sell. My sheep and chickens are all happy and living as nature intended them to. If you happen to be in the area...stop on in! Jan from Emerald Acres!

Highlights this Month
This month it has become apparent that I needed something to help me stop drafts in this rickety old farmhouse. So..Emma and I have added these really handy "Draft Stoppers" to our list of products. I O' course have to use about 20 of them around my 100 year old castle but believe me they do work! We have filled them with nice clean sand and chips of good Oklahoma red ceder! Not only does this make them smell wonderful but it discourages any creepy crawly things that might decide to take refuge in my old house! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do...both making and using them!
