Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) All our fruits, vegetables, and plants are pesticide and herbicide free. All our products contain no preservatives, no food grade shellacs, and no waxes to increase shelf life. Many of our products are grown organically as far as spraying goes but some use a very small amount of fertilizer so we are not certified organic. Our orchard is environmentally friendly and enhances the wildlife habitat. Additional Information Most our fruits are left on the tree until ripe. Pears and some peaches are picked a little early as fruits used in canning require this. Once they arrive, keep them in a cool dry location, perhaps a refrigerator. Since all our fruits are grown without pesticides, always open fruits prior to eating to ensure no insect damage. All defects and any hard spots should be cut away. Always wash and dry fresh produce prior to eating or storing. Our fruits do not contain any preservatives and should be used right away or refrigerated. They should not be left on the counter or in bags to ripen as without preservatives they may not shelf ripen. We guarantee your purchase for 1 week after delivery. We will replace items (if available) or at our option return your purchase price or request a credit for you from the coop. Highlights this Month June sees lots of plants growing in our beds. Available this month are fresh herbs, grape leaves, and smoking woods for your barbeque. We may have some summer squash done for June but you'll have to check back later in the order cycle to see if they finish up. |
