We are dedicated to producing quality products that your family will enjoy as much as ours does. We have raised peanuts near Eakly, OK for four generations. Many people comment “The raw peanuts are so fresh.” and “These are the best peanuts I’ve ever eaten!” So we are encouraged to continue our efforts. As far as we know, we are the only family in the state of Oklahoma who raises and shells the peanuts, roasts and makes candy, and packages them for the public. All of these steps are accomplished without ever leaving the family farms. We’ll do our best to see that your desire for peanuts is satisfied. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients Home grown Spanish Peanuts are used in all of our products. The only additional ingredients are peanut oil, salt, cayenne pepper, garlic salt, paprika. Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) We raise the peanuts using minimal tillage and deep water irrigation wells applied through center pivot systems with low pressure drop nozzles. We use environmentally sound and energy efficient practices. These peanuts are solar dried in the fields. Our peanuts are USDA inspected for human consumption at the time of harvest and after shelling is complete. Our peanuts are sized ,after shelling over a 16/64 X 1.5 inch screen to produce the highest quality and best tasting peanuts. The peanuts are processed in a kitchen at the family farm certified by the State Department of Health. We are a commercial farm. We use herbicide for control of weeds and grasses,manual weeding is also needed. We use insecticide only as needed on the plants, usually to control thrips that move out of the ripening wheat fields to feed on the young peanut plants. We use fungicide later in the growing season to control white mold diseases that emerge with cooler ,wetter weather. We don't put anything on the peanuts for storage, they are maintained in cold storage at 38-40 degrees. Additional Information My grandparents, George and Alma Lasley, planted their first peanuts in 1939 near Eakly Oklahoma. George,Alma ,Esthel,and Zelma [my parents] raised seed peanuts for the Oklahoma Foundation Seed Stock-Oklahoma Crop Improvement Association Inc. based out of Oklahoma State University at Stillwater OK. in 1955. They were asked to continue this seed production and in 1956 they purchased a peanut sheller. We continue to grow the foundation seed today.
