Handcrafted Soap, Heritage Handcraft Classes and Gifts About Us I have loved heritage crafts since my grandmother taught me how to embroider and sew dolly clothing as a little girl. For many years now I have had a love affair with natural fibers.Wool, silk, cotton and linen are my favorites to wear. I never dreamed I would spin some of these fibers on my own spinning wheel and watch the transformation to yarn with such joy. In these busy days full of life's cares and stresses I spin, crochet, dye, do embroidery, rughooking and handbuild pottery while reaping the rewards of a return to a simpler, slower meditative pace. As a social worker and parenting skills teacher I have learned to share my handwork skills with others as way to release tension and take care of one's self. Contact with natural fibers and with earth's clays seem to have a soothing effect on myself and others. I am offering classes at our studio in El Reno. Join us in our workshops learning simple ways to celebrate nature and God's gifts in creative simplicity. We have been making our handcrafted natural soaps for over twelve years. I have chemically sensitive skin, making it difficult to find a soap gentle enough to use without irritation. My husband's skin is quite dry and often itchy after using ordinary soaps. This soap making adventure began as I attempted to find a soap I could make to help both of us be more comfortable. Sometimes we include freshly dried herbs grown in our own gardens. Indulge yourself and treat your skin to the simple pleasure of a beautifully and carefully made bar of natural soap. We make an unscented oatmeal soap for the most sensitive skin. It is our most popular facial and body bar. We create soaps in many scents. Fragrances change seasonally.
