About Us
Upper Red Fork (Country Raised Lamb) is a small 100 year old family farm located in North Central Oklahoma, just Southwest of Hunter, a modest farming community. The farm is run by David and Tami Buss, whom have three children, Kearstin, 16, Tucker, 8, and Bowdrie "Bo", 6 years old. David is the fourth generation to raise sheep and wheat on this farm.

With the volatile wheat prices we needed to do something extra in order for us to keep our young family on the farm. We have thought of innovative ways to bring in extra income so that we can continue to keep our children on the farm.

As many farmers already know, wheat prices are less now than they were over 50 years ago, and all of the inputs to put a crop in each year have more than tripled in price per acre. We hope by our extra hard work and getting back to the "Roots" will provide you with great products that will make you want to come back for more.

Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
Our sheep are free to graze openly on the wheat field. They are only shut up in the barn during inclement weather and at night to keep predators from getting to the flock.

The wool is shorn by, Danny Smith from Kansas. We send some of the wool fleeces to Gail White. She cleans the fleece and cards the fiber. When we receive the wool back from her the wool is in rovings and ready to hand spin. The wool we don't sell to Gail White we send to a Wool Warehouse. There are two different wool warehouses, one in Hutchison, KS and the other in Roswell, NM (this is the largest wool warehouse in the US)

The wool yarn is hand spun by Angela Hughes in Collinsville, Tulsa. She takes the cleanded fleeces and hand spins into a double strand yarn. There are about 110 yards per skein. None of the wool yarn is dyed. It's all kept the "Natural" color.

We do not feed our sheep flock antibiotics or implant with grown hormones.

The cookie dough was formulated from my grandmother's original cookie recipe. We use Oklahoma Wheat Flour. We can't raise enough to supply our needs, so we are trying to help out other wheat producers in the State. The cookie dough mixed and produced into 3 pound tubs by S&S Foods in OKC. Right now we only have Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin. We are also adding Sugar Cookie and Peanut Butter. Remember these are my grandmother's original cookie recipes. The cookie dough is made with "Real Butter" and "Real Eggs". When baked the cookies have that "Made from Scratch flavor"
