Quality grassfed lamb and beef - USDA inspected cuts of lamb and beef, and half or whole lamb carcasses. Available year around. About Us At Atoka Lamb, quality is key. We started our sheep business more than 20 years ago when our children raised lambs as a 4-H project in Arizona. We soon became interested in raising hair sheep and developed a quality flock of St. Croix-Dorper Cross Ewes. We outgrew our Arizona farms and moved, flock and all, to Southeastern Oklahoma in 2006. We really liked what the Dorpers offer in terms of quality meat production, so in the fall of 2009 we purchased fullblood Dorpers from Lewis White Dorpers of Bonanza, OR. Our lambs are quality Dorper and Dorper Cross hair sheep, 5 to 7 months old, nutritious, mild in flavor, lean, and low in saturated fat. The meat is tender, slaughtered and processed at a USDA inspected plant in Muenster, TX. In the fall of 2010, we added grassfed beef to our operation. We purchased some top quality Angus from a quality, A-I and production tested herd of 50 years. The meat is nutritious, lean, tender and processed at the USDA inspected plant in Muenster, TX. Pastures are natural. We do not use chemical fertilizer, pesticides, or herbicides. For winter grazing, the pastures are interseeded with rape and turnips. During times of winter storms or when forage gets short, we supplement with alfalfa and grass hay. Our animals are raised without the use of hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. Highlights this Month Atoka Lamb may now be misnamed because we now are offering quality beef as well as lamb. This fall, we added grassfed beef to our operation when we purchased some top quality Angus from a quality, A-I and production tested herd of 50 years.
